Welcome to the Ark of Safety Christian Church

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

- Psalm 27:4

Muse is a nationally respected preacher of the gospel with television broadcasts in 8 cities and services that can be seen and heard globally each week on Internet radio, at www.SpiritCo1.com.  He is also founder and president of the   Ark of Safety Bible College.

In May of 2004, the 57-thousand square-foot Melwood Mall in Upper Marlboro, Ark of Safety North, was purchased to renovate for use as the church’s new 2000-seat sanctuary and administrative headquarters.  It will also house the bible college, a school, and banquet facility.   In August 2004, Muse broke ground on Ark of Safety South, a future 40-acre church campus, park and community center to serve youth and senior citizens in the Ft. Washington and Oxon Hill communities. In April of 2004, The Ark of Safety opened Victory House, in Ft. Washington, Maryland, a shelter for victims of domestic violence and abuse.

In 2003, Muse was bestowed the highest honor in the Christian church with his election to the Joint College of Pentecostal Bishops, based in Cleveland, Ohio.  On September 25, 2004 his spiritual father, Bishop Ralph L. Dennis of Kingdom Fellowship Covenant Ministries, an international organization based in Towson, Maryland, formally consecrated Muse into the Episcopacy. Muse will oversee a cluster of churches in the Northeastern United States, serve on Kingdom Fellowship’s Apostolic Council and will continue his work to develop local church leaders.

Muse is a widely respected and long-time activist on behalf of the church and community.  Muse is the founder of Clergy United, an activist group of more than 150 pastors in Prince George’s County and the Washington Metropolitan area whose focus is to serve as an effective and influential voice on issues critical to the church at the county, state and national legislative levels.

In 2006, Muse was elected Senator for the 26th legislative district.  He serves on the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, Joint Committee on Children, Family & Youth, & Joint Committee on Healthcare Delivery & Finance.  He was recently appointed to the National State Legislative Conference, Human Service & Welfare Committee, The Maryland Medicaid Advisory Committee and the Task Force to Study Group Homes Education & Placement.

Muse holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Church and Community Development, Howard University, a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Morgan State University.
