Page Guide: You are here >> News & Events >> Ark Hurricane Relief Efforts News & Events Ark of Safety Christian Church Ark Hurricane Relief Efforts Beginning Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Ark of Safety Christian Church, 9402 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, MD, the Ark will raise funds, clothing and other needed items as part of their ongoing contribution to the efforts. We will begin our effort by collecting clothing and monetary donations through an ongoing relief campaign. We will also use “Victory House”, a shelter for domestic violence victims to house a family. Bishop Muse is asking the local churches to stand with him in assisting their brother’s and sisters in New Orleans and surrounding area to mobilize and rebuild their churches and communities. Clothing and Monetary Fund Drive -Collection points will be available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 8 pm at the Ark Of Safety Christian Church, 9402 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, MD. We will be collecting cash, checks or gift cards (phone, gas, food, department stores, hotels, etc) in any denomination for distribution to Hurricane Katrina victims. Collection will extend through the month of September. Victory House Cleaning and Furniture -If you are willing to help clean and prepare Victory House for displaced residents of the Gulf Coast, please see Brother Al Cole or call 240-299-4917. Cleaning of Victory house will take place on Wednesday, September 7-8, 2005 during the daytime. We are also in need of a one full or double bed along with two to three (2-3) bunk beds. We are also in need of bed linen, towels. September 25, 2005 5pm-6pm Interdenominational Relief Prayer Service at Ark of Safety Christian Church, 9402 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, MD.
